Everyday the Christ Child is reflected in the work of the Society’s members. Chapter members serve in response to the unique needs of their communities.
Society Chapters challenge poverty one child at a time providing services to:
Newborns and their mothers
• providing layettes for new mothers and their babies
• offering support to families who have lost a child at birth with bereavement layettes
• partnering with agencies to teach parenting skills
• mentoring and emotional support for parents and children
• providing educational tools and tutoring activities for
disadvantaged children
• operating care centers for special needs children
School age children
• reading, tutoring and mentoring programs
• providing support and education and counseling to
parents and children in crises
• supplying clothing, shoes and school uniforms
Community
• maintaining a facility for the care and treatment of
emotionally disturbed and abused children
• cooperative initiatives with community agencies
• sponsoring clubs, activities, parties, resident and day
camps and camperships
• operating centers for free and low cost apparel
